East Harlem Business
Capital Corporation launches
Uptown Works/ El Barrio
Banner Program

The Uptown Works/ El Barrio Banner Program represents an unprecedented marketing opportunity for local businesses, artists, non-profits, and corporations looking to promote their brand within a targeted, grassroots
campaign. Our outdoor, large-format banners measure eight (8) feet tall
by three (3) wide, printed on both sides. Adhering to current “green”
initiatives throughout the city, state and country, the banners are made of durable, recyclable vinyl, and are printed using weatherproof, eco-friendly, non-toxic inks. Our current design allows for monochrome sponsor branding at the bottom 1/8 area. The body of the banner is full color, and the top 1/8 area contains the program masthead. The banners are mounted to DOT lamp poles, with unprecedented visibility and exposure to pedestrian and vehicular traffic. The placing of the banners can be pre-determined with the client and/or sponsor.

In addition, we also offer the 8x3 banners, as well as smaller (5’ 4” x 2’ and 3’ 11” x 1’ 6”), single-sided banners for personal and institutional use.

The Uptown Works/ El Barrio Banner Program currently features the “El Barrio Means...” campaign, depicting artwork by local artists, images promoting business and inspiring messages about our community, its cultural heritage and economic potential, and historical figures that inspire the residents and workers of our community.

While “El Barrio” simply means “neighborhood” in Spanish, members of the community are proud to point out that this part of Manhattan is truly unique. El Barrio represents a distinct patch in the greater tapestry of New York City, and “El Barrio Means...” displays the elements of that patch to residents and visitors alike.

Rather than attempting to sell a muddled, “melting pot” message, we look to focus on all the wonderful ingredients of our neighborhood and its people.
